Aid agency Trócaire is responding to the earthquake that struck south of the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince and is appealing to the Irish public for funds.
The UN has described this disaster as the worst they have ever dealt with.
Trocaire’s emergency programme manager, Maurice McQuillan says that their “immediate priority is to save as many lives as possible by rescuing trapped survivors. After that the focus will be getting survivors the shelter, food and cooking equipment they need. Homes, schools, shops and businesses have collapsed in Port-au-Prince where over 2 million people live”.
Please donate today to Trócaire or any of the trusted aid organisations that are working on the ground in Haiti.
